Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Sister

Elizabeth Ann (nee Capone) Sampson, 70, of Westfield, died Monday November 19, 2018, at
Overlook Medical Center in Summit. Born in Plainfield, she was the beloved daughter of the late
James and Regina O'Donnell Capone. A 1966 graduate of Westfield High School, Elizabeth
had worked in sales at the former Hahne's Department Store, now Lord & Taylor in Westfield.
She is survived by her husband: William Henry Sampson Sr., daughter: Elizabeth Anne Veiss (Andrew),
son: William H. Sampson Jr, two granddaughters: Olivia and Ella Sampson, and brother:
James Capone Jr. (Annette). Elizabeth's Life Celebration and Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday
November 20th, at Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield, Her funeral mass will be celebrated
at 11:30AM Wednesday November 21, 2018 at St. Helen Catholic Church, Westfield. Interment will follow
in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the: American Heart Association.

Betty was such a kind sweet person. The best of neighbors. She was always a pleasure to talk to. My late husband Jim and I cared very much about her and knew she watched after us. Heaven has a new beautiful angel.
